Drama As Police Foil Robbery Near Kampala Central Police Station
Drama ensued Friday afternoon as robbers attempted to rob a woman in front of the Kampala Central Police Station.
The attackers fled for cover, but nearby motorcycle riders, soldiers, and police officers pursued them. Three of them were transported to the Central Police Station after being taken into custody close to the Buganda Road Court and hotel triangle.
Nantambi, a member of staff for the Simba Company, situated in Kololo, claimed she noticed the motorcycles approaching but was unable to guess that she was the target. She claims that a little while later, they pulled her off the motorcycle by grabbing her purse. Nantambi believes the goons were warned off because she frequently sends money from her business to the bank.
The arrest of three of the four thugs was praised by Patrick Onyango, a spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Police. These three suspects will face robbery charges, it has been announced. These three will assist us in finding their runaway coworker, Onyango said.
More than 30 motorcycle gang robbers were apprehended in 2020 by the Crime Intelligence and Flying Squad forces. At Mawanda Road, the intersection of Jinja Road and Prince Charles Drive in Kololo, Buganda Road, Muyenga, and Bugolobi, these had robbed people in broad daylight. During the operations, at least three gang members were killed by gunfire.
