Sophie Gombya shares how stage performance sparked wedding proposal with Sam Gombya

Former Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) President Sophie Gombya has shared how she got married to the love of her life, Mr. Sam Gombya.

She narrated that the whole scenario of getting engaged with Sam came after they were invited to perform at the Bagaga Kwagalana end-of-year party ceremony.

When she and Sam put up an impressive performance, it stuck with Sir. Gordon Wavamuno’s mind. Upon accomplishing their set, Mr. Wavamuno inquired if they were related or lovers.

Mr. Wavamuno then proposed to them to get married. He instantly started a contribution campaign toward their wedding with Shs1m.

Mr. Sudhir and Kirumira also followed suit by contributing Shs1m each, plus other rich friends, and the wedding went on to happen, uniting the two to become husband and wife.

I think Sir Gordon Wavamuno had a hand in helping Sam Gombya win my heart over and later I entered a union with him. He is the one who started the campaign to collect our wedding money after a performing for them at an end of year party. He contributed Shs1m, Sudhir and Kirumira also contributed Shs1 each on that very.

She explained that before the incident, she had not thought of being in a relationship with Sam because she was still a student in her secondary school.
