Victoria University Honored as Uganda’s Best Private University for 2024/25

Kampala, (UG) – Victoria University (VU), a trailblazer in education, has been crowned Uganda’s Best Private University for the 2024/25 academic year in the Uganda Responsible Investment Certification and Development Champions Awards.
This prestigious recognition, organized by Public Opinions, celebrates VU’s outstanding contributions to advancing education, fostering innovation in artificial intelligence, and aligning with Uganda’s national development goals under the NRM government.
The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Lawrence Muganga, expressed gratitude for the accolade, highlighting VU’s commitment to student-centered learning and technological advancement. “This recognition underscores our dedication to equipping students with skills that meet global standards while addressing Uganda’s development needs,” he remarked.

Public Opinions cited VU’s leadership in artificial intelligence awareness and application, corporate social responsibility, and support for government initiatives like the Parish Development Model. VU’s contributions include supporting publications that document the achievements of President Yoweri Museveni’s administration and encouraging students to drive community development initiatives.
Prof. Muganga has emerged as a leading advocate for AI adoption in Uganda, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and education. “AI is a game-changer for Uganda, enabling better decision-making, combating corruption, and enhancing efficiency in critical sectors,” he said.
The survey, conducted among 10 private universities, found VU to be the frontrunner in technological innovation, educational excellence, and community impact. As part of its recognition, VU will be featured in the prestigious Uganda Development Champions Journal, which highlights transformative institutions and individuals.
Victoria University, a member of the Ruparelia Group, has established itself as a hub for experiential learning since its inception in 2013. Its modern infrastructure, chartered status, and focus on practical education have made it a leader in preparing students for global opportunities.
Buyinza Adam Luzindana, Team Leader of Public Opinions, commended Prof. Muganga’s visionary leadership, calling him “a genius committed to Uganda’s progress.”
