According to the President’s Office, President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni has summoned all of his advisors to Kyankwanzi for a presidential retreat.

The retreat is set to begin on December 12th and will last for a whole week. To have their inaugural general contact with the President for the 2021-2026 term, all Presidential Advisors are required to participate.

On Saturday, November 27, 2021, Minister for the Presidency Milly Babirye Babalanda revealed the planned retreat arrangement while speaking on a local radio station in Busoga.

The conversation between the Head of State and his advisors, according to the Minister, is likely to primarily concentrate upon the implementation of the manifesto, as well as other unannounced business that may arise.

The retreat comes as the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) faces a difficult task in delivering on promises made to the public in the run-up to the January 14 general elections, which were centered on “Securing the Future.” “The challenge of securing Uganda’s future is far too important for one to gamble on. It’s not a game of chance. It’s a matter that necessitates a lifetime of dedication, unending sacrifice, and extensive experience. “The only political party that can be trusted with the sacred responsibility of preserving Uganda’s future is the National Resistance Movement,” states NRM’s manifesto commitment declaration for the recent elections.

Jobs and wealth creation through commercial agriculture promotion, industrialisation, service delivery and Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Education, Health and Water, ensuring justice and equity, protecting life and property, and achieving economic and political integration are some of the key manifesto goals.
