On Monday, police and enforcement agents from the National Drug Authority (NDA) detained Dr. David Ssali on suspicion of disseminating false information, including his assertions that onions may treat HIV/AIDS. The arrest, according to NDA spokesperson Abiaz Rwamwiri in an interview with this magazine, came after a public outcry and other intelligence data that the drug authority and police had obtained. According to Mr. Rwamwiri, “This man (Dr. Ssali) has been using social media, particularly TikTok illegally, for some time to advertise medications and make false claims about treatments and cures, including healing HIV/AIDS using onions. The NDA Act and other health regulations are broken by this. So, after acquiring our intelligence data, we collaborated with the police to have him detained. Mr Rwamwiri added that Dr Ssali was running a Kampala clinic without an Allied Health Professionals Council licence. “He was discovered running a clinic illegally in a very filthy setting. He was also discovered hawking and peddling more than 20 illegal products,” the source claimed. Dr. Ssali described how one of his clients, who was stationed in China, was ‘cured’ of HIV/AIDS with an onion combination after following his prescription in a TikTok video that this writer came across. Mr. Rwamwiri claims that the NDA deemed this information to be false and that it could result in more health issues and deaths. “We cannot wait for people to die,” he declared, citing popular outcries. Dr. Ssali has been deceiving Ugandans for a long time who have come to him seeking help and his self-serving objectives have caused greater health issues. Due to his concoction’s production in a filthy setting and unmeasured client consumption, several persons have experienced kidney-related issues.

Yoweri Museveni, the president of Uganda, issued an order on Sunday to send extra troops into the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to hunt down the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels who are thought to have murdered 39 secondary school pupils last Friday in western Uganda’s Kasese area. In a statement, Museveni claims that the ADF should be completely destroyed in light of the most recent attack. The president’s significantly revised remark is provided below. I offer my condolences to the affected families and the entire nation. This latest crime committed by ADF members is illegal, desperate, terroristic, and pointless. The ADF, who had occupied the region for nearly 20 years, has been under intense pressure from the Congolese army and our troops ever since “Operation Shujja” began. We have inflicted so much damage on these criminals. To help you understand the situation, take my rough sketch of...
