Phionah Kayinza is one of the students at Kampala International University awaiting graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication on November 23rd, 2024. She believes that inclusivity drove her to choose KIU.

“The diversity and inclusivity of everyone inspired me to. Besides, I needed a university where I don’t feel so far away from home and also the half bursary was another major reason to choose KIU.” She said.

It will be remembered that Kayinza represented the university at the 2023 Inter-university Competitions and made KIU victorious, merging the best English News team. In addition, she was the Master of Ceremony (MC) of the 2023 Intercultural Gala ceremony.

Kayinza summarises her stay at KIU as a joyous, fruitful and a worthy stay.

“One of my highest moments was being the female news anchor for KIU English news at the 2023 National Newsroom Contest and the team emerging the best.

She advised all students to value and utilise their social network.

“Students should leverage their networks and relationships, embrace lifelong learning and growth and stay true to their values.” She said

Kayinza looks forward to pursuing a career in communications, utilizing her skills and knowledge to drive innovation and growth while considering further education for a long-term impact.
