Kampala, February 05 2024 – In a bold move to address unemployment and poverty, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), has launched a comprehensive empowerment program aimed at uplifting Uganda’s youth. The initiative targets President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s “bazzukulu,” offering them various tools to kickstart their entrepreneurial journeys.

As part of the empowerment program, Namyalo personally distributed essential tools to the beneficiaries, including sewing machines, hair dryers, shaving machines, goats, chicks, and capital funds. This initiative aims to provide tangible resources that empower individuals to become self-reliant and contribute to the economic development of their communities.

Contrary to unfounded allegations that Namyalo retrieves the donated tools, beneficiaries spoke out in a meeting with President Museveni, refuting the baseless claims. They shared heartfelt testimonials, expressing gratitude for the genuine support they have received from Namyalo’s initiative, which has rescued them from the shackles of poverty.

Addressing the beneficiaries, President Museveni acknowledged the positive impact of Namyalo’s tenure at the ONC, commending her for making the office visible and empowering the youth. Encouraged by the transparent and corruption-free nature of the empowerment project, Museveni pledged his support to ONC activities, promising to provide necessary resources to sustain and expand the initiative.

During the meeting, beneficiaries who had undergone training through the presidential industrial hub passionately urged President Museveni to visit their communities, emphasizing that such a visit would showcase the tangible benefits of Namyalo’s empowerment program. They highlighted the transparency of the initiative, dispelling any doubts about its integrity.

A source present at the meeting reported, “HE [His Excellency] was pleased with these life testimonials and promised to support ONC activities because Hajjat Namyalo’s tenure has managed to make this office visible and also enabled bazzukulu to enjoy the fruits the freedom fighter fought hard to bring to them.”

However, the source also revealed that the success of the empowerment project has triggered opposition from some quarters, with regime opportunists attempting to frustrate its implementation. Despite the challenges, the initiative remains steadfast in its commitment to creating lasting positive change in the lives of Uganda’s youth.
