ONC village based mobilization

The village-to-village mobilization campaign has been introduced by the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC) in an effort to boost the ruling party’s mobilization ahead of the impending Local Council One (LC1) and women’s council elections.

The Village to Village campaign, which launched on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the ONC offices in Kyambogo, Kampala, also aims to promote community development in government initiatives and disseminate the gospel of self-empowerment from the ground up.

The Head of ONC, who is also the Senior Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, stated that the mobilization campaign, which began today, will be village-based to ensure that it bears the fruits of the NRM Manifesto 2021–26, in a speech to a large crowd of village coordinators and NRM supporters on Friday afternoon.

Ms. Namyalo advised the youths to participate in the upcoming LC1 elections in order to participate actively in government initiatives, protect what is rightfully theirs, and fight for empowering measures from the ONC.

Ms. Namyalo urged the cheering youths, “The NRM Electoral Commission is soon going to unveil the roadmap for the party primaries, and I want to ask you all to participate in the elections without fear; no one should stop you.” She added that by voting, the community could get rid of the avaricious land grabbers.

The only way to get rid of them, she continued, is by running against them in the upcoming village LC elections. “We have long-serving LC1 chairpersons who use their positions to influence and connive with land grabbers to steal your land,” she said.

Speaking to NRM supporters on Friday afternoon for the beginning of the NRM village-based mobilization drive was Hajjat Namyalo.

The ONC Boss also mocked the “mafias” of opportunists who use the President’s name to extort land from Ugandans, declaring that she doesn’t fear them and that she will continue to expose them for their dishonest schemes.

“..President Museveni never sends anyone to evict people from their land, this has cost the NRM its support in the Buganda Region, in the Ghettos, Busoga, and several other parts of the country,” she claimed.

Hajjat Namyalo said her office successfully objected to Frank Gashumba’s attempt to falsely claim ownership of the slogan after the historic decision on the #TovaKuMain2026 slogan. She also revealed how the ex-socialite signed a deal worth more than 500 million shillings but continued to demand more out of greed.

Namyalo highlighted that she never claimed ownership of the slogan and its works, instead securing what belongs to the President’s office and the ruling NRM party. “If they want to appeal, let them go ahead and appeal; we will still trounce them and they will pay heavily,” she said.

At the beginning of the village-to-village mobilization drive, a group of NRM supporters gathered at the ONC offices in Kyambogo.

Hajjat Namyalo was thanked at the same event by Sheikh Sulaiman Guggwa, Uganda’s deputy ambassador to Saudi Arabia, for her efforts to bring the NRM party back together.

Sheikh Guggwa gave his support to ONC’s #TovaKuMain campaign amid ovations from the applauding crowd, declaring: “President Museveni is coming back in 2026, that is even undeniable.”

Improved access to healthcare, education, and activities, such the building of healthcare centers and the formation of schools in remote places, are among the accomplishments aimed at by the recently established village-to-village strategy.

According to Hajjat Namyalo, the program also attempts to close the service delivery gap between rural and urban communities.close the service delivery gap between rural and urban locations.
