Sseggona Rules Out Court Action Against Magola, Says He Is Satisfied With Outcome
Kampala — Busiro East MP and senior lawyer Medard Lubega Sseggona has said he has no intention of taking legal action against Mr. Magola, noting that he is satisfied with the situation and has already congratulated him.
Speaking while addressing the matter, Sseggona dismissed speculation that he was considering court proceedings, emphasizing that there is no dispute between the two. “I can’t take Mr. Magola to court because I’m satisfied, and I even congratulated him and wished him the best,” he said.
His remarks come amid public discussion and political chatter suggesting a possible legal challenge, which Sseggona has now firmly ruled out. The legislator added that his focus remains on his ongoing parliamentary duties and serving his constituents.
Observers say Sseggona’s statement could help ease tensions among supporters who had anticipated a prolonged legal battle. Political analysts note that such conciliatory gestures are uncommon in Uganda’s often heated political contests, making the development notable.
Mr. Magola has not yet publicly responded to Sseggona’s latest comments, but sources close to both camps say the relationship between the two leaders appears cordial following the outcome in question.
Further updates are expected if either party issues additional statements.
