Toyota Reaffirms Commitment To Service Delivery As 176 Vehicles Handed Over To Local Governments

A fleet of 176 brand new Toyota vehicles was officially handed over to local government leaders at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in a function that underscored the government’s commitment to improving service delivery and Toyota’s continued role as a trusted mobility partner in Uganda.

The vehicles, supplied through Toyota Uganda under CFAO Motors, are expected to enhance monitoring and supervision of key government programmes at district, city, and municipal levels.

Addressing the gathering, Toyota Uganda’s Country Sales Manager, Mr. Edwin Muhumuza, said the company was proud to be part of an initiative that supports local leadership in delivering government programmes more efficiently.

He assured the leaders that the company’s responsibility extends beyond supplying vehicles to ensuring their continued performance through reliable after-sales service and maintenance.

“We are very excited to be part of this process to hand over vehicles to the Government of Uganda,” Mr. Muhumuza said. “Each vehicle comes with a three-year warranty and two years of service support. We have service networks across all regions in Eastern, Northern, Central, and Western Uganda, to make sure leaders can access technical support whenever they need it.”

He emphasized that Toyota’s partnership with government institutions is grounded in long-term reliability and accessibility, noting that the company’s technicians and service centers are fully equipped to maintain the vehicles and guarantee their performance in all operating conditions. “We do not just deliver vehicles,” he added. “We ensure they are supported, serviced, and ready to deliver the results expected of them.”

The event, presided over by the Minister of Local Government, Hon. Raphael Magyezi, on behalf of the Prime Minister, marked a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to strengthen local administration. The 176 vehicles, valued at UGX 35.2 billion, were distributed to 135 District Chairpersons, 10 City Mayors, and 31 Municipal Leaders to facilitate supervision of government initiatives such as the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, and the Youth Livelihood Programme.

Hon. Magyezi commended Toyota Uganda for its professionalism and reliability, describing the company’s partnership with government as one that continues to add tangible value to service delivery. He urged the recipients to use the vehicles responsibly and to ensure that they are well maintained for the benefit of their communities.

For Toyota, the handover reaffirmed its standing as a key player in Uganda’s development journey, providing not only mobility but dependable support systems that keep government operations running smoothly. As the new vehicles were driven away from Kololo, they carried with them a message of partnership, reliability, and the shared goal of bringing services closer to the people.
