The newly elected President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda, Pastor Samuel Kajoba, made his first official visit to Wakiso Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sabbath, October 18, 2025, in a spiritually charged service that drew hundreds of worshippers and church leaders from across the district.

The visit, part of his nationwide outreach initiative, marked a moment of reflection, prayer, and renewal for the faithful as the new leader outlined his vision for a stronger, Christ-centered church built on unity and faithfulness.

Preaching under the theme “The Living Rock,” derived from 1 Peter 2:4-5, Pastor Kajoba urged believers to anchor their lives on Jesus Christ, whom he described as the true cornerstone of the Christian faith.

He likened the church to a spiritual building under divine construction, emphasizing that every believer plays a vital role as a “living stone” in God’s plan. “God is building us into a spiritual house,” he said. “He is shaping our character and aligning us with the line of Jesus Christ. When we come to Him, He builds us, and through us, He builds others.”

His heart touching sermon was inviting believers to reflect on their spiritual growth and readiness for Christ’s return.

Pastor Kajoba illustrated his message with vivid imagery, describing how rough stones are refined through God’s transformative power. “We were brought like raw stones on a truck,” he said, “but God is shaping and perfecting us to reflect His image. Let us not resist His building hand, for only those who allow Him to shape them will be ready when Christ returns.”

He reminded the congregation that Jesus Himself set the example by beginning His ministry after baptism at the age of thirty, demonstrating that obedience and spiritual readiness precede divine recognition. “Even if you are doing everything right, if you are not baptized, heaven does not recognize you,” he told the congregation, urging those yet to make that decision to do so without delay.

He recounted the moment at the River Jordan when heaven opened and God’s voice affirmed Jesus, saying, “This is my beloved Son,” reminding the church that baptism remains the gateway to spiritual renewal and divine approval.

Pastor Kajoba also prayed for Prime Radio, which has served the Seventh-day Adventist community for 23 years, commending its commitment to broadcasting programs that glorify God’s name.

He thanked its management and listeners for their continued support and encouraged Christians to stand by the station despite its decision to forgo commercial adverts that contradict Christian values. “Prime Radio has chosen to honor God rather than profit, and that is something we must all support,” he said.

In a moving moment of dedication, Pastor Kajoba prayed for all candidates preparing for their Primary Seven, Senior Four, and Senior Six national examinations, asking God to grant them wisdom and success. He reminded parents and students that “the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom,” emphasizing that education without faith is incomplete.

Beyond the spiritual message, the church leader also used his visit to appeal for national peace and unity ahead of the 2026 general elections.

He urged Ugandans to maintain calm during political campaigns, emphasizing that elections come and go, but the nation must remain united. “These elections are just for a few days, but after that, we will still live together, intermarry, and share communities,” he said. “Let candidates seek votes respectfully. You can ask for support without spreading hatred or lies.”

He called upon journalists and writers to report responsibly and avoid fueling divisions through sensational or biased coverage. “Do not write what will destroy peace,” he cautioned. “When there is no peace, people lose lives, property, and everything we have built as a country. Let peace guide all our actions.” He appealed to leaders at all levels, from security officers to local council chairpersons, to uphold stability and protect citizens’ safety. “Peace does not start with guns,” he said. “Peace begins with each of us.”

The Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Mrs. Kasasa Paulina, who also serves as the leader of women in Wakiso Church District, expressed gratitude for the historic visit, describing it as a blessing for the local congregation. “It was a great privilege to host our new president and to see so many believers come together in worship and unity,” she said.

Pastor Gerald Lally Lubega, the district pastor, also thanked the church members for their overwhelming support, noting that Pastor Kajoba’s visit had reignited the congregation’s commitment to God and community service.

Pastor Kajoba was elected as the President of the Uganda Union Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in August 2025 during the East-Central Africa Division session in Nairobi, Kenya.

With over three decades of ministry experience, he previously served as Executive President of the Central Uganda Conference.

He now leads a new national leadership team comprising Pastor Nicholas Birigwa Bitamazire as Executive Secretary and Pastor Isaac Lyada as Executive Treasurer.

For the worshippers at Wakiso, the visit was more than a ceremonial occasion, it was a spiritual call to rebuild their faith, uphold peace, and allow God to shape their lives into living stones worthy of His kingdom.
