Moyo — The grand finale of the Moyo District Secondary Schools Sports Association (MDSSSA) 2026 officially kicked off in style, highlighted by the commanding presence of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Ocailap Geoffrey Filbert, who personally flagged off the much-anticipated final.

In a ceremony brimming with prestige, pride, and pure football excitement, RDC Ocailap’s leadership set the tone for a historic showdown. With players lined up, fans roaring from every corner, and the stadium alive with energy, his signal to start the match was more than ceremonial — it was a statement of Moyo District’s commitment to youth sports, talent development, and community engagement.

On the field, Bishop Asili Secondary School narrowly defeated Laropi Seed School 1–0 in the boys’ final, while Moyo S’s dominated St. Thomas with an impressive 8–0 victory in the girls’ match. These four teams will advance to represent Moyo in the regional competition in Nebbi District, carrying forward the pride and support championed by RDC Ocailap.

Out of 16 secondary schools in the district, 13 participated in this year’s tournament, making MDSSSA 2026 one of the most competitive and memorable editions to date. Observers praised RDC Ocailap’s dedication to youth development, noting that his presence and encouragement inspired both players and spectators alike.
