Two Suspected Thugs Arrested Moving With Pangas at Night in Wandegeya

Police at Wandegeya have arrested two suspects who were found found wandering at night while armed with dangerous weapons.

According to the Deputy Public Relations Officer Kampala Metropolitan Police ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the arrest occurred in the early hours of 18th March 2026 at around 12:23am during a routine patrol by officers from Kikoni B Police Station near Nyumbani Hotel.

Owoyesigyire noted that the suspects have been identified as Omirambe Nizara (18) and Ochom Daniel (23), both residents of Kawempe Division, Kampala District.

ā€œThe officers encountered a group of about six youths who fled upon seeing the police.

Two suspects were apprehendedā€ he said.Owoyesigyire noted that upon search, one of the suspects, Omirambe Nizara, was found in possession of a panga and a knife concealed on his person.

ā€œThe suspects are currently in custody at Wandegeya Police Division, and the case file has been prepared and is pending submission to the Resident State Attorney for legal adviceā€ said.

Owoyesigyire revealed that investigations are ongoing.
