Ransom Gone Wrong: 4-Year-Old Boy Murdered in Mubende
Nalutete, Mubende — A four-year-old boy has been tragically killed after kidnappers demanded a Shs 6 million ransom from his family.
Police reports indicate that the child, Kazungu Daniel, was abducted from his home in the early hours, and despite the family managing to raise Shs 1 million, the boy had already been murdered.
Investigators say the suspect, Emmanuel Muwanguzi, confessed to kidnapping and killing the child, disposing of the body in a pit latrine within the village.
He was later arrested in Kampala during a joint operation by police and military intelligence.
The boy’s body has been recovered and is undergoing post-mortem at Mubende Regional Referral Hospital.
Authorities have warned the public about the dangers of ransom-driven crimes and urged vigilance to protect vulnerable children.
Community members are left shaken, questioning the safety of children in their villages, while police continue to investigate whether the suspect acted alone or as part of a wider criminal network.
