Iranian authorities have rejected the claim of surrender, saying the country remains committed to defending its sovereignty.

President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran had communicated with neighbouring countries to reassure them that Tehran has no intention of targeting them unless they allow attacks against Iran from their territories.

The escalating rhetoric between Washington and Tehran has sparked concern among global leaders, with fears that the situation could lead to a broader regional conflict.

Experts say continued confrontation could also affect global oil prices and international trade routes, particularly through strategic waterways in the Gulf.
