Police attached to Jinja Road Police Station have arrested six suspects during an operation targeting shops suspected of dealing in stolen motor vehicle parts in the Kiseka area of Central Division.

The operation was conducted on March 5, 2026, between 10:00am and 3:00pm in Kiseka Market within Kampala, an area known for trading in motor vehicle spare parts.

According to police, officers carried out searches in several shops believed to be involved in the illegal trade of stolen vehicle property.

During the operation, six suspects were arrested after they were allegedly found in possession of suspected stolen items.

Items recovered during the search included old vehicle grills, side mirrors, motor vehicle number plates, spotlights, headlamps, and baby side mirrors.

Police said the exhibits will assist in ongoing investigations into cases of vehicle parts theft.

The suspects have since been charged with receiving and retaining suspected stolen goods and are currently detained at Jinja Road Police Station pending prosecution.

Police have warned traders against engaging in the illegal trade of stolen vehicle parts and urged members of the public to report suspected criminal activity to authorities.
