Two Missing, Eight Rescued After Taxi Plunges into River Nyagak

Two people are reported still missing after a commuter Taxi carrying passengers from Masindi District to Alangi Market in Zombo District plunged into River Nyagak this afternoon.

According to first responders, so far eight people have been rescued from the fatal crash while two remain unaccounted by Monday evening.

The taxi which operates along the same route is said to have negotiate a sharp corner near the bridge and fell into the river.

The eight survivors are currently admitted to Nyapea Hospital in Zombo district as efforts to locate two more passengers remain underway, by the police and rescue teams from Nyapea Hospital.

By the time of this publication, the police was yet to issue a statement on the accident.
