Police Hunt Wakiso Father Accused Of Killing 18 Year Old Student Found With Daughter On Valentine’s Night
Grief and shock have engulfed residents of Mabanda Cell in Gombe Division, Wakiso District, after an 18 year old student was killed in what police describe as a domestic confrontation that spiralled into fatal violence.
The deceased, identified as Bukenya Martin, was a Senior student at Hillside Secondary School in Matugga and a resident of Kirinyabigo in Kawanda Nabweru Division.

g to preliminary police findings, the incident occurred at about 11pm on February 14 when Bukenya was allegedly attacked at a home in the area.
Investigators say the suspect, identified as Herbert, reportedly found the teenager inside his house with his 14 year old daughter.
In the ensuing confrontation, the student was allegedly assaulted and sustained serious injuries. He later succumbed to those injuries.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded to reports from the community and documented the scene as inquiries commenced. “We are treating this as a case of murder. The suspect fled immediately after the incident and efforts to have him arrested are ongoing,” the spokesperson said, adding that police are pursuing leads to establish the full circumstances surrounding the altercation.
By Sunday morning, the suspect and his immediate family were said to have vacated their residence, leaving neighbours stunned and uneasy.
Residents described the incident as both tragic and disturbing. “It is painful to see such a young life lost in anger. Whatever the disagreement, this should not have happened,” one local resident said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The killing has also reignited conversations about parental responsibility, adolescent relationships and the consequences of taking the law into one’s own hands.
Community leaders in the area have urged calm as investigations continue, cautioning against speculation and retaliation.
Police have appealed to members of the public to share any information that may help in locating the suspect, assuring that all tips will be handled confidentially.
Meanwhile, Bukenya’s family is preparing for burial as they await justice for their son, whose life was cut short in circumstances that have left a community searching for answers.
