Bish Roland Education Trust Fund sponsored students excel in UCE Exams at Kabale Brainstorm High School

Hon. Bish Roland Ndyomugyenyi set up Bish Roland Education Trust Fund to transform Rukiga through impactful education.In the recently released Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), Students sponsored by the Rukiga County Member of Parliament at Kabale Brainstorm High School performed exceptionally well and this has been attributed to the welfare and sponsorship from Bish Roland Education Trust Fund.

In 2021, during his campaign trail, Hon Roland Bish promised to promote Education through bursaries, text books and other reading materials as well as lobbying funds to reconstruct school blocks that had become dilapidated.

Hon. Bish Roland Ndyomugyenyi says when he was at the University, he thought of the idea to help poor children from Rukiga District access education without a hurdle and challenges like he had faced during his earlier schooling days.

He said during his early years when he was young, he went through a lot of hurdles and challenges with school fees as he was always being chased from school.

He was always in and out of school because the parents could not pay fees in time. So his dream was that if he grew up and achieved something from education, he would pay back to the community by uplifting brilliant children from poor families.

So in 2019, he decided to make one of his dreams come true and that’s easing education access to less advantageous kids from poor families.

He didn’t want to these kids to go through the hurdles he went through to attain a better education.

Hon Roland Ndyomugyenyi’s love and support to education is not new.

During his University days around 2003, He hatched the plan to get money from well-wishers under Rukiga University Students Association and with this cash, they bought text books and distributed it to schools in the district.

When he got his first job, he decided to sponsor a few students until he started getting a much bigger salary.

He then decided to set up Bish Roland Education Trust Fund (BRETF) to sponsor education of children from poor families.

It was formally registered and something that would be here for ages. The Fund sponsors a number of students and pupils in most schools in Rukiga District.When last year’s UCE results were released this week, it was time for celebrations at Kabale Brainstorm High School as students from Bish Fund performed excellently.

Hon. Bish Roland Ndyomugyenyi said his education fund is part of giving back to the community which entrusted him with the mandate in 2021.

He wanted to see these children attain holistic education to brighten the community’s generation as well for the entire country.

So far the Fund has partnered with different secondary schools and tertiary institutions to take on the students.

He is working with Kabale Brainstorm High School, Bukinda SSS, St. Paul SSS, St. Mary’s Rushoroza, Kihanga SSS, Kamwezi SSS and Wisdom SSS with now over 205 students under the sponsorship of the fund.”We want to achieve holistic education based of properly constructed ideas,” he said.

The Fund has instilled hope among learners who had lost hope of attaining further education after primary.

The fund is neutral and balances all religions and areas in Rukiga. Many have described it as a brilliant idea and have praised Hon. Roland Ndyomugyenyi Bish for being a visionary leader whose legacy shall live on.
