MK International School Invests in Student Welfare and Modern Facilities to Strengthen Standards
Kampala, Uganda: MK International School in Busega has rolled out a series of infrastructure upgrades and student welfare reforms aimed at improving learning conditions and restoring confidence among parents and stakeholders.
The developments form part of the school’s broader effort to enhance health, safety and academic standards following past concerns about student accommodation facilities that attracted regulatory attention.
According to school administrators, the improvements include renovated hostels, upgraded sanitation systems, strengthened supervision structures and enhanced health protocols to promote student well-being.
Bamulopa Sulaiman, Director of MK International School, said the institution has made significant investments to ensure learners stay in a safe and supportive environment.
“We have invested heavily in improving our facilities, especially student accommodation and welfare systems, to meet the required standards and provide a modern learning environment,” Sulaiman said.
He added that the reforms were guided by recommendations from education authorities and inspections conducted to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
The school also introduced additional welfare measures such as trained matrons, improved security systems and structured student support programs to strengthen pastoral care. Some parents who spoke to this publication welcomed the changes, citing improvements in hygiene, supervision and communication between the school and families.
Education observers note that continuous investment in infrastructure and student welfare is essential for institutions seeking to maintain quality boarding facilities and rebuild trust with stakeholders.
Beyond infrastructure, MK International School says it has expanded academic and co-curricular programs, including digital skills training, leadership development initiatives and sports activities aimed at nurturing well-rounded learners.
The administration says it will continue working closely with regulators, parents and the community to sustain improvements and uphold high education standards.
