Kyenjojo residents decry unlucky voice of roads

Kyenjojo, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Residents of Bufunjo Subcounty in Kyenjojo District possess raised concerns over the deteriorating voice of roads in the earn apart.

In response to residents, the voice of the roads is hampering transportation, limiting access to mandatory companies, and threatening their livelihoods.

Talking in the course of a community baraza organised by Inch Africa in partnership with Twaweza Uganda at Bufunjo Subcounty headquarters on Thursday, the residents highlighted the severe challenges introduced about by deep potholes, broken bridges, and the long-established lack of boulevard upkeep.

The residents reported that loads of key roads possess severely change nearly about impassable, making it extraordinarily stressful to pass agricultural set and limiting day-to-day rush. They cited the Karambi–Kahombo, Katoma–Kikazi–Bukongwa, Kifuka–Kambo bridge, and the Rwenjaza–Bukongwa bridge.

Yofesi Kabagambe, a resident of the earn apart, said the unlucky boulevard conditions possess enormously hindered the transportation of farm set to markets, affecting family incomes.  He adds that college-going young folk are also struggling to attain their faculties as a consequence of the rank voice of the roads.

Any other resident, Michael Christmas, eminent that the rank roads possess disrupted agencies, made it onerous to access smartly being companies, and worsened the already stressful lives of community contributors.

Pulicalipo Kobusheshe, the LCIII Chairperson for Bufunjo Subcounty, acknowledged the unlucky voice of the roads and attributed the delays in repairs to restricted property and a lack of boulevard upkeep equipment.

Sylvia Katusiime, a Project Officer at Inch Africa, said the baraza equipped a precious platform for dialogue between the community and public officers.

She outlined that such engagements enable residents to straight demand questions, offer feedback on service shipping, and aid leaders guilty.

Katusiime emphasised that these boards toughen public participation in planning processes and enable accountability bearers to direct straight to the folk they aid.
