In a confident stride toward claiming leadership in Busongora South, Hon. Aminadabu Muhindo was officially nominated at the NRM Electoral Commission offices on Kyadondo Road in Kampala, marking a significant milestone in the ruling party’s internal election process.

The nomination was conducted amid a calm but determined atmosphere, with a visible show of support from party cadres, local leaders, and youth representatives who accompanied him to the venue.

Shortly after his nomination, Aminadabu spoke exclusively to The New Light Paper, urging the people of Busongora South to unite behind his renewed vision for the constituency. He called on voters to look beyond past setbacks and focus on the opportunity to uplift the region through deliberate, people-centered leadership. “This campaign is not just about a seat in Parliament,” he remarked. “It is about raising the standards of living for our people. It’s about education, healthcare, infrastructure, and jobs for our youth.”

His message was clear and consistent: development must be intentional, inclusive, and aligned with the broader goals of the National Resistance Movement. He pledged to prioritize the education sector, citing the need for more classrooms, scholastic materials, and teacher support in rural schools.

On infrastructure, Aminadabu noted the poor state of feeder roads that continue to hinder transport and trade, promising to lobby government for urgent rehabilitation of critical routes.

In the area of healthcare, he decried the persistent gaps in service delivery, particularly in sub-counties with understaffed and under-equipped health centers. He vowed to champion improvements in medical supplies, ambulance services, and community outreach programs aimed at maternal and child health. “We cannot speak of development when our mothers still walk miles to reach a midwife or when our children drop out because there are no desks,” he stated, highlighting the lived realities of many residents in Kasese District.

Aminadabu also emphasized the importance of working closely with the central government to attract investment and service delivery. He spoke of creating partnerships that would bring sustainable development projects to the area, including agricultural support for farmers, youth skilling programs, and access to micro-financing for small businesses. “We must bridge the gap between the people and opportunity,” he said. “And that begins with trusted, accountable leadership.”

Though the road to the NRM primaries remains competitive, his nomination signals a campaign that is ready to mobilize and persuade. For now, Aminadabu Muhindo appears poised to reintroduce himself not just as a politician seeking office, but as a community advocate rekindling hope in a region still waiting to fully share in the national promise of prosperity.
