FUFA Big League Results (Sunday, June 15, 2025)
Onduparaka F.C. 0-0 Calvary F.C
Paidha Black Angels 2-1 Kiyinda Boys
Gaddafi F.C. 0-0 Blacks Power
The race for promotion to the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League (UPL) has reached a boiling point as three northern football sides, Calvary FC, Blacks Power, and Paidha Black Angels, all remain within striking distance ahead of the FUFA Big League season finale next weekend.
In the fixtures on Sunday, all three clubs were in action during the penultimate matchday of the 2024/25 season, with results that have left the promotion battle wide open.
Lira-based Blacks Power FC fought to a goalless draw against Jinja’s Gaddafi FC in a tight encounter at Entebbe Works Stadium, maintaining their grip in the fourth position with 46 points from 27 games, just one behind third-placed Gaddafi.
Despite missing the chance to leapfrog their promotion rivals, the team remains upbeat about sealing their return to top-flight football.
“We have only one mission to accomplish; that is to gain promotion into the Uganda Premier League. We have to achieve that by winning our remaining match,” said Abel Ogwang, spokesperson for Blacks Power FC.
Ogwang rallied fans from Lira City, Lango sub-region, and Northern Uganda to turn up in big numbers for the club’s decisive home game against Busoga United on Saturday, June 21.
Paidha Black Angels Edge Kiyinda Boys in Crucial Win
In West Nile’s Zombo District, Paidha Black Angels kept their dream alive with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Kampala’s Kiyinda Boys FC at Bar-Okoro Stadium.
The hosts took an early lead in the 25th minute, but Kiyinda’s Ambrose Kigozi leveled in the 33rd. Paidha regained the advantage in stoppage time of the first half (45+1), sealing a vital three points that lifted them to 46 points and into fifth place.
West Nile Derby ends in Stalemate
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated West Nile derby between Onduparaka FC and Calvary FC ended in a goalless draw at Ababet Greenlight Stadium in Arua.
The result did little to change Calvary’s solid standing; they remain second with 49 points, but now face pressure to win their final game to avoid being leapfrogged by any of the chasing pack.
Onduparaka, on the other hand, sits sixth with 39 points and appears mathematically out of the promotion picture.

With just one matchday left, three northern teams, Calvary, Blacks Power, and Paidha Black Angels, are separated by a mere three points, each eyeing one of the coveted promotion slots into the Uganda Premier League.
