Driver Narrates How The Gunmen Fired 8 Bullets Before Escaping From The Scene
The gunman fired more than 8 shots in a single burst, Mathias Waswa, the driver of murdered blogger Ibrahim Tusubira alias Isma Olaxess, who was shot and killed in the terrible assassination on Saturday night, has claimed. The gunman also checked to make sure the blogger was no longer breathing before fleeing the scene.
According to a statement from the police on Saturday, Waswa was traveling with the late Olaxess in a car with the license plate UBK 213 D when the attack occurred at about 9:20 p.m. on May 6, 2023, in the Kyanja Central Zone.
The driver who departed inquisitively after being spared by the gunfire disclosed that the shooter was so sure of himself and simply wanted Olaxess dead in a conversation with Wilson Kaaya, Olaxess’ friend.
Waswa is alleged to have informed Kaaya on Saturday night, shortly after locals gathered at the site in Kyanja, “He shot Olaxess, came close and shot about 8 more bullets, and checked to ensure that he was not breathing anymore.”
Tusubira Ibrahim, who was in the passenger seat at the time of the incident, was fatally shot, according to early police reports. The attacker, an unidentified gunman carrying an SMG, began fire on the car.

Detectives and scene of crime officers were already on the site, assiduously working to collect all relevant evidence and carry out comprehensive investigations into the incident, according to the KMP Deputy PRO Luke Owoyesigyire on Saturday.
The Speaker of the House, Anita Among, criticized the way the well-known blogger was assassinated and urged the authorities to guarantee that those responsible are brought to justice.
“I strongly condemn the cruel act of killing someone in cold blood. Such behavior is unacceptable in our country and cannot be accepted. I urge the police to make sure the offenders are prosecuted,” Ms. Among tweeted.
As investigations continue, DailyExpress has learned that the dead body of the murdered Olaxess was brought to the city morgue early on Sunday morning.
Olaxess passed away just a few days after Col. (Rtd) Charles Okello Engola, a native of Kyanja and the state minister for labor, employment, and industrial relations, was shot and killed on May 2 by Pte. Wilson Sabiiti, his bodyguard.
