Fear As AIGP Asan Kasingye Tests Positive For Covid-19
The police Chief Political Commissar,
AIGP Asan Kasingye has tested positive for ccoronavirus.
According to his tweet this afternoon Kasingye said: “BAD NEW [sic]!! I’AM #COVID19 POSITIVE.
This comes as Uganda yesterday registered 318 positive cases in one single day.
According to the Ministry of Health, only Amuru Prison registered 154 cases including one staff member, and the contacts and Alerts registered were 136 cases.
Among the 136 registered conntacts included 65 from Kampala,8 from Kitgum and Arua, 14 Kiryandongo, 9 from Gulu and Mbarara, 7Wakiso, 4 Mbale, 4 Buikwe, 2 Masaka, and Bugiri, luweero, Manafwa, masindi, mityana districts recorded one case respectively.
Dr Jane Ruth Aceng has further revealed that the country has recorded one new death.
”We also recorded one (1) COVID-19 death, a 49 year old male from Mbale District, bringing the total cumulative COVID-19 deaths to 20,” she said.
Acheng added that the Ministry working with Uganda Prisons Services has since relocated all the confirmed 152 inmates to Gulu Central Prison which is acting as an auxiliary isolation facility.The prison staff is admitted in Gulu Regional Referral Hospital
