By Hason Mutunzi Bwambale
In a joyous ceremony filled with worship and celebrations, the Seventh-Day Adventist Church – Emmaus, Kirinya, has been officially inaugurated as a full-fledged Church Board. The church, which began its journey in 2022 under the umbrella of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church – Mt. Olives has achieved this significant milestone in just one year.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Pastor Bernard Kakuru, the officiating pastor from the Central Uganda Conference. Pastor Kakuru conducted the inauguration and was warmly received by the church’s own Pastor, Godfrey Kulumba.
The event, broadcasted live on Hope Channel Uganda, garnered a massive attendance of visitors. Among the esteemed guests was Mr. Kugonza Isaac, the Managing Director of Hope Channel Uganda, accompanied by his wife.
Isaac, during his speech thanked the Christians for supporting Hope Channel though he highlighted the need for more funds to run the TV station that solely survives on tithe and offertories. Hope Channel, which is still in negotiations with Startimes, is expected to be hosted on Startimes at a tune cost of 11000 USD. It also requires 1Bn Uganda shillings to run annually. According to the MD, Hope Channel is expected to be on Startimes by end of next week.
The MD asked the congregation and all free will giving people reading the Newlight paper to donate to the TV station through the known channels for smooth running of the station.
