Who Is Nicholas Bitamazire? : Uganda Union Elected Executive Secretary

Bugema University lecturer Nicholas Bitamazire is a dedicated educator and servant leader with a passion for making a positive impact on society. With a diverse educational background and a commitment to personal growth, Bitamazire has become a respected figure in academia and religious circles.
Born on March 26th, 1981, in Uganda, Nicholas Bitamazire has always demonstrated a thirst for knowledge and a drive to excel. He holds a bachelor’s degree in science with honors from Makerere University, where he honed his analytical and critical thinking skills. He further pursued his academic journey, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in theology with honors from Bugema University.
Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Bitamazire earned a Master’s degree in religion from the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) in 2016. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at the Adventist University of Africa (AUA), focusing on furthering his understanding of theology and spirituality.
Bitamazire’s commitment to personal and professional growth is evident in his participation in various training programs and workshops. Notably, he completed a course on managing emotions in times of uncertainty and stress at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. He also obtained a certificate in multimedia from the Greenbridge School of Open Technologies, enhancing his technological skills.
Throughout his career, Bitamazire has held several positions that have allowed him to make a difference in the lives of others. As a lecturer at Bugema University’s School of Theology and Religious Studies, he not only imparts knowledge but also coordinates and facilitates students’ research and writing processes. His dedication to guiding students through their academic journeys showcases his commitment to education.
Bitamazire’s leadership skills were further honed during his tenure as the university chaplain at Makerere University, where he served as the spiritual guide for the Makerere University Seventh-day Adventist Students Association (MUSDAA). Additionally, as an associate pastor in the Kampala A District, he assisted in coordinating the activities of four church boards and several Sabbath schools.
His commitment to serving others extends beyond his professional career. Bitamazire has actively engaged in various areas of service, including serving as the Secretary of the AIIAS African Students Association in the Philippines and Vice President of the Graduating Class at Bugema University. His dedication to his faith is evident in his role as Treasurer of the Ministerial Association at Bugema University.
Bitamazire’s contributions to academia have been recognized through awards and publications. He received a Certificate of Merit in recognition of scholastic excellence during the 2009–2010 academic year. His research work has been published in reputable journals, including the Journal of the Adventist Theological Society and the Asia-Africa Journal of Mission and Ministry.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bitamazire is known for his personal attributes. Committed to making a lifelong positive impact in society for the glory of Christ Jesus, he is driven by his enthusiasm for learning and discovering new ideas. As an effective team player, he values collaboration and believes in the power of unity.
