Rubanda teacher died in a car accident The New Light Paper

Ivan Tugumisirize, 32, a teacher at one of the schools in the Western district, lost his life in a deadly accident on Monday afternoon. Police in Rubanda are looking into the incident.

The collision featured two motorcycles that were coming from separate directions and crashed head-on in a tight turn along the same route, according to Mr. Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region police spokeswoman.

Police stated: “It is alleged that two Bajaj motorcycles, whose details were not yet identified as they were removed from the scene before police arrived, were traveling in opposite directions along Hamuhambo- Bushura marram road, met in a sharp corner, and collided head-on, seriously injuring the occupants.”

Tugumisirza, a resident of Kabugu Village, Bushura Ward, and Hamuhambo Town Council, passed away as he was being transported to Kabale Hospital by kind individuals, according to Maate. He passed away as a result of the accident’s wounds.

Other accident victims, according to authorities, had not yet been located as of the time of publication and their whereabouts were unknown.

The body of Tugumisiriza was sent to Kabale Hospital, where a postmortem was performed. Later, his remains was given to the family members for burial, according to Maate, who spoke to DailyExpress on Monday.

In a related event, 35-year-old Alex Turinawe, a resident of Kakirago cell 1 in the Bugangari Sub County of Rukungiri District, passed away on Monday as a result of a deadly accident that occurred along Rukungiri-Kanungu Road at Kikirago I cell.

According to ASP Maate, the deceased was sloping down the hill intending to cross the road when the accident occurred involving a motor vehicle with the registration number UBJ 090F belonging to Chico Road Construction Company that was bringing road supplies from the site to Rukungiri town.

According to Maate, the drivers of the truck owned by Chico route Construction Company and the riders of the motorcycles involved in the collision that killed Turinawe on the Bushura-Hamuhambo route have not yet been located.

He continued by saying that after postmortems were performed at Rwakabengo Hospital and Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, the deceased’s bodies were given to their family for respectable burials.
