City Tycoon Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia Joins Speaker Among For Unveiling Of Bukedea Sports Complex

Kampala’s notable tycoon, Sudhir Ruparelia, along with several other influential business personalities, gathered to witness the inauguration of the Bukedea Sports Complex, a project spearheaded by Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among. The complex will serve as the venue for the upcoming East Africa Secondary School Games, hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College, featuring competitions across sixteen different sports.
Speaker Anita Among has called upon the government to prioritize the construction of modern sports facilities in every district across Uganda, emphasizing the importance of such infrastructure for the advancement of sports nationwide.
The official opening of the sports complex will be conducted by President Yoweri Museveni later today.
“Tomorrow (today), we have the honor of welcoming our esteemed leader, President Yoweri Museveni, to Bukedea. He will officially inaugurate the Bukedea Sports Park, which boasts a football stadium, an indoor sports hall, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool designed for the FEASA games. This facility is set to significantly enhance the sporting landscape in our region,” Speaker Among shared on her X platform yesterday. During the launch, Speaker Among also hosted a gathering of top Kampala businessmen, including the Ruparelia Group chairman and Kwagalana Group leader Godfrey Kirumira, as well as Hamis Kiggundu, among others.
Over 1,775 school teams from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda have already registered to compete in the East Africa Secondary School Games, which will officially commence in Bukedea District this Sunday.
