Tragedy Strikes Rubanda As Man Kills Wife In Bar Brawl: Suspect Still At Large

Rubanda District is in shock as the police intensify their search for Silverio, a resident of Karengyere village in Muko Subcounty, who is alleged to have killed his wife, Grace Brenda Kibibi, during a bar brawl. The gruesome incident occurred along the way from a local bar at Karengyere Trading Center, leaving the community in disbelief.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman, ASP Elly Maate, addressed the media, revealing that the case was reported by the LC chairperson, Kwizera Katasha, on Thursday. The motive behind the tragic incident remains unknown at this point.

According to the chairman’s report to the Muko Police Station, the altercation took place under circumstances yet to be determined. Law enforcement swiftly responded, visiting the scene to document the evidence. The victim, Grace Brenda Kibibi, was found with wound cuts on her head.

Postmortem examination procedures were conducted, and relevant witness statements were recorded to aid in the ongoing investigation. The body of the deceased has been handed over to relatives for burial.

The Rubanda Central Police Station has officially registered the case under reference number CRB 042/2024 as investigators work to piece together the events leading to the tragic killing. Silverio, the alleged perpetrator, is currently on the run, prompting a heightened effort by the police to locate and apprehend him.

The community is grappling with shock and grief over the sudden loss of a life, and questions are emerging regarding the circumstances surrounding the deadly altercation. Local authorities are urging anyone with information on Silverio’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in ensuring justice for the victim, Grace Brenda Kibibi.
