Cavendish University Uganda, renowned for its commitment to fostering responsible citizens through education, has stepped forward to contribute Ushs 5,000,000 to the highly anticipated Royal Wedding of His Royal Highness King William Gabula Nadiope IV and Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi. The contribution, announced today, underscores the university’s dedication to cultural heritage and community engagement.
In a statement released by Prof. John Mugisha, the Vice Chancellor of Cavendish University Uganda, he expressed honor in supporting the Busoga Kingdom during the historic celebration of the royal union. “The university sees the royal wedding as an opportunity to express its profound love, respect, and solidarity with Busoga and the celebration of a rich culture,” Prof. Mugisha remarked.
Mr. David Mutabanura, the University’s Executive Director, emphasized the pivotal role culture plays in fostering unity and the development of ethical, productive, and responsible citizens. “Our commitment to community engagement aligns with the university’s mission, and we believe in contributing beyond academic boundaries,” he stated.
The Katukiro of Busoga Kingdom, Owek. Dr. Joseph Muvawala, expressed gratitude for the university’s contribution, highlighting the enduring relationship between Cavendish University Uganda and the Busoga Kingdom. Dr. Muvawala acknowledged the university’s dedication to promoting cultural heritage and commended its practical and innovative teaching and learning approaches.
Cavendish University Uganda extends warm wishes to His Royal Highness King William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV and the entire Busoga Kingdom on this historical occasion. Promising to collaborate through higher education, the university aims to support the kingdom in its pursuit of curbing poverty, ignorance, and disease within the region.
The announcement of the generous contribution was witnessed by distinguished guests, including the 2nd Deputy Katukiro of Busoga Kingdom, Owek Osman Noor Ahmed, the Chairman of the Central Organizing Committee of the Royal Wedding, Eng. Patrick Batumbya, several Busoga Kingdom cabinet ministers, and other esteemed invitees.
