Police FC Partners With Super Sport TV Channel To Promote Ugandan Football
By Gad Masereka
One of the big league team Police FC’s off-the-field plans for getting back into the Uganda Premier League, big league team Police FC has started a show on the Super Sport TV channel.
The partnership between the club and the pay television channel was officially announced on Tuesday at the Fairway Hotel. It is anticipated that regular interactions will help market and promote Ugandan players.
The club stated, “That is one of our off-pitch strategies aimed at getting the club back to top-flight football.”
For a full year, the show will be broadcast on various SuperSport channels on DSTV. The action intends to support the club’s goals and provide a platform that will expose the club to the international market.
Timothy Batabaire, a former Cranes player who attended the ceremony, said that SuperSport was the ideal platform to use to promote Ugandan football.
SCP Halango Timothy, the chairman of Police FC, reiterated that the goal of the club is not just to promote football but also to promote Uganda as a nation and cultivate potential on such a significant stage.
The launch was graced by Chairman Halango and attended by several dignitaries, including Kwenaite Thomas (SuperSport analyst), Julian Dube (SuperSport producer), Timothy Batabaire, Police CEO, RTD CP, PK Arinaitwe, Acting Force Sports Officer, SSP Nampoza Ritah, and head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa.
The Cops are topping the 15-team Big League standings with nine points, which is exactly how the league is going for them.
The police have won each of their first three games. They beat Jinja North by a goal to none, defeated Ndejje University 3-1, and also defeated the newcomers, the Young Elephants, 2-1.
