Over 1000 People To Benefit PDM Money As Seven Sacco’s Launched In Nyakiyumbu Sub-county,

Kasese: Over one thousand people will benefit from Parish Development Model in Nyakiyumbu sub-county in Kasese district, Mr. Sunday Peter Kakule, the local council three chairperson has announced.

Speaking at the official launch of PDM at the sub-county headquarters on Monday afternoon, Kakule said Government has disbursed 763 million shillings to benefit seven Parish development Model Sacco,s.

Kakule said the money will be invested in enterprises including Coffee farming, Piggery rearing, poultry, Banana plantation and Rabbit rearing among others.

He advised the beneficiaries to properly utilize the funds as per their work plan. 

 Ms. Patience Masika, the community development officer reported that out of seven PDM Saccos three have already received the funds including, Muhindi and Kaghorwe.

Some beneficiaries described PDM money as a blessing from government aimed to improve their livelihood. 

Mr. Mustafa Kukusa, the sub-county chief asked the beneficiaries to use PDM money as a blessing than a curse in their families.

Last Month,State Minister for National guidance Hon Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga launched the Parish development model program in the district,and narrated the journey of the country’s transformation under the leadership of NRM, saying Parish development model aims at helping people from parish level to increase their household income and join the money economy. 

He appealed to all political, religious and cultural leaders among others to join hands with government and sensitize the communities and promote parish development model.

Mr Eliphaz Muhindi, the Kasese district boss attributed delayed disbursement of PDM funds to poor data entry. 

Ms. Best Juliet Bakoko, the town clerk Muhokya town council and Mr. Kazimoto Nuru, town agent Katwe Kabatoro town council pledged to monitor the beneficiaries, later asking those who had not received to remain calm.
