Besigye Under House Arrest For Attempting To Protest Soaring Commodity Prices
Dr. Kizza Besigye, the Ugandan opposition leader, has been arrested outside his home after attempting to resume his ‘Walk to Work’ protests. He has now been placed under home arrest, according to security officials.
In protest of the country’s unfair commodity prices and unresolved political succession, he attempted to walk to Kampala.
Kampala Dr. Kizza Besigye’s Kasangati residence has been closed to Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago. The level of security deployment remains high.
